the red button BY HENRY ACKERMAN & ART WIDNER Eddie gazed in awe at the shining array of gadgets on the instrument panel of his friend's new automobile. "Get in," said Frank, "& we'll go for a spin." As they slid smoothly, & with absolute silence, into the flow of traffic, Frank said, "Press that button marked 'C'". Eddie did so. Out popped a lited cigaret. Eddie took it, slightly pop-eyed. Try the one marked 'T'," said Frank. Eddie tried it. A small screen lit up, showing a pressbox view of a baseball park. "Three & two on Kreshnik," droned the announcer. "Here comes the big one." "Gee - Television...." Eddie whispered. "Yup," Frank grinned. "First car to have a set." "Gosh," said Eddie. "This is quite a buggy." "Aaah," bragged Frank. "That's nothin'. See this little red button over here on my side? That's the real feature. That other stuff will soon be standard equipment on everything. But nobody'll ever have this besides me. An old inventor wanted me to try it out as an experiment. He died the day after he installed it. The plans were all in his head. Too bad - he could have made millions."
