ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT STATEMENT A Draft Environmental Impact Statement has been prepared for this project in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969. This statement includes: 1. Project description and purpose 2. Alternatives 3. The probable impact of the proposed project on the environment 4. Probable adverse environmental affects which cannot be avoided 5. The relationship between local short-term uses of man's environment and the maintenance and enhancement of long-term productivity 6. Commitments of resource 7. Problems and objections 8. Steps taken to minimize harm This statement has been circulated to various federal, state, and local agencies for statements or comments. The statement is available at this hearing for your study. Any comments that you may have relating to the Environmental Statement will be used together with comments received from reviewing agencies in the preparation of a Final Environmental Statement. The final statement will then be submitted to the Federal Highway Administration for their acceptance.
