No one seems to have solved the full problem -- even to the extent of obtaining "necessary" conditions. Of particular interest are the existence of the low rigidity cut-off in the spectrum, the fluctuations of intensity and the "soft radiation". And it is of course an interesting problem in its own right. A good solution may have unforeseen applications. --------------- Specific solutions (a la Störmer) can probably be obtained with Kasper's differential analyzer. -------------- Some references: (1.)
