The Visking makes sausage casings etc and in particular is the only supplier of poly-ethylene films for high altitude balloons to Winzen & General Mills. They usually supply the material in 56 inch wide strips. But they extrude it in cylinders of about 10 foot diameter, -so that the "double lie flat" size is 16 feet. Indefinite length. I could not help but think of the possibility of making very inexpensive balloons by merely taking a long cylinder of the material and necking
