preference (likely!) etc) decided after discussion with E. Ray, F. McDonald & [C.?] P. T. Tyndall to transfer his employment temporarily to J.P.L. on ~18 November he left bag & baggage with his equipment for Pasadena. He advised me that he might finish J.P.L. assignment by 1 February but in order to "recoup" financially he might stay on for remainder of school year and perhaps summer. However, he would still plan to complete M.S. thesis & publish his instrumentation work. He did apparently still have the intention of returning to Iowa.
