12/29/1957 Made out check today #1382 to Receiver of Taxes, Southampton, N.Y. for $20 for taxes for 1957 on "Abbie's Woodland". The tax bill was made out to William B. Platt, Jr. since he bought it up at tax sale several years ago in a famous "snafu". Was deeded over to Ralph L. [Quass?] (Abbie's stepfather) as a "third party" for purpose of "perfecting the title" -- according to the tactics originated by Platt to handle the matter! Description of the tax bill is as follows: 8 A H William B. Platt, Jr. Southampton, N.Y. ----->
