(5) There was a report that the tape recorder had mal-functioned at x-5 minutes and had caused a delay. George says the correct story is as follows. After the "[bucket?]" was spun up an attempt was made to trigger the recorder play-back. Nothing happened. The rotation was stopped. Another attempt to trigger! This one was completely successful and a full, clean record of the ground counting ratio was obtained. The bucket was then spun up again and the receiver was again triggered and was successful! It was decided to go ahead! The difficulty apparently has to do with spin induced amplitude modulation of the received signal. The triggering signal is frequency coded and apparently there is a problem of false frequency modulation interfering with the coding ? - Don't understand
