Third Anniversary Issue -- Page Thirty-Five FANTAGLIMMERINGS Well, this issue marks the third anniversary of the Collector. Yes, for three years the COLLECTOR has appeared every month (oops, my error). Anyway, for three years the COLLECTOR has appeared, and that is a record to shoot at. Very few fan magazines have lasted as long; the only others being Olon F. Wiggins' SCIENCE FICTION FAN and Julius Schwartz* renowned FANTASY MAGAZINE. I contend that editor Dollens and his successor Baltadonis deserve a chorus of huzzahs for this excellent record. May the COLLECTOR have many more anniversaries. Now that the convention is over, perhaps a few things should be said about it. In the first place, it was a super affair, although I cannot honestly say that it surpassed my expectations. I expected the attendance to be much larger. but even so it was quite large. I easily experienced the best time of my life at the affair. By the way, Sam Moskowltz recently wrote an article in FANTASY NEWS concerning the softball game which was rather egotistical, to say the least. According to Sam, he was the great slugging star who won the game for his team with six hits for six times at bat. I'll wager that at least four of those hits were really errors. It is a decided fact that the outfield caught only two fly balls! In other words, anything that got past the infield went for extra-bases! Furthermore, the losing team was not the PSFS Panthers! Only four members
