By the way, would you Queens SFL be willing to accept a challenge to play another game In Philadelphia at the Conference? If you beat the PSFS team then, well, we'11 then consider you the superior and will immediately rack up. Like the COLLECTOR, Fantascience Digest has also been late in appearing recently. The forthcoming issue (two months behind) will appear sometime in August and will feature a really interesting story by Joseph Mitchel Boyer, and it cannot be considered as fan fiction because Mr. Boyer is a professional writer who even crashes the slicks! He is also editor of a slick publication, Outwitting Handicaps. There will also be material by Ralph Milne Farley, Fred W. Fischer (who is a real find), Mark Reinsberg, etc., etc. FD will soon sport a printed cover — probably by JVB... The Philadelphia Science Fiction Society has been very inactive of late. In fact we haven't held a meeting since early in June; It is really very difficult to keep a small science fiction society functioning throughout the summer months; vacations interfere too much. Speaking of vacations, Helen Cloukey is touring the western part of the United States Miss Cloukey intends to crash the pros sometime in the future If she does, I am almost certain that she will be the first female fan to accomplish such a feat. JVBaltadonis and the writer recently spent a week at Wildwood, New Jersey. Ghu knows where Ossie Train is. No one has heard from him since the time of the convention. Several Philly fans; including Agnew Quinn, JVB, Johnson, and the writer, have formed a left-handed dart-shooting league. Sound interesting?
