Third Anniversary Issue -- Page Thirty-Nine Fiction Convention this past July. A more enjoyable three days, this humble science fiction fan has not experienced. Long will I cherish stories of those eventful three days; the main day of the convention; Frank R. Paul; the many authors, the softball game; the grand banquet; Metropolis; the never-to-be-forgotten auction) and so on and so on. Yet one ineradicable stain shadows the colorful glory of the convention. The barring of Wollheim and other Michelists. Perhaps their reason for this action was good enough. It is true that Wollheim did cause trouble at a previous convention, and did serve to break up several SFL meetings and cause enmities to burst into lurid flame. However, idealists--and certainly science fiction fans are idealists--if nothing else--judge a man, not on past actions but on the possibilities of some future deeds. What we want to know is what happened to Olon F. Wiggins? "Where will you be in 1939?" "Onward to the World Science Fiction Convention in 1939" Such streamers were emblazoned in pages of the Science Fiction Fan. Yet, at this convention...no Wiggins. Mayhaps we'll yet meet Olon at Chicago? Another fellow we wanted to meet once again at the Convention was H. Koenig. Too bad he couldn't come. We still have some back issues of the Collector, PSFS News, Imaginative Fiction, and Science Adventure Stories on hand. If you're missing any issues, maybe we can help you? Well, be with you again, next issue. the Editor
