Tues sept 14 A gloomy day at half past 4 PM we had a heavy rain we washed dident hang the clothes out Father & I cleaned the hen house wed spt 15 A nice day very cool this morning I caned 4 qts (illegible) 2 qts sweet apple preserves it is raining this eve a warm rain have so much rain lately th sept 16 A gloomy day it rained all last night I ironed this fornoon worked in the strawberry (illegible) this afternoon am tired Fri sept 17 A nice day Wallace & Lena went to Dubuque with Fred & Mabel Rathlinberger to day
