hours on the Mediterranean and see Tunis for a day or two just for the sake of a glance at Africa.  I'll be sure to tell you about it so if you don't get cards at intervals for three weeks after this letter you can be sure I'm not seeing these wonderful sights.
I'll take a notebook along for fear I might see something to write down but I think you'll get most of the dope on cards, while its hot.
I was mighty glad to get your letter with the dope in it about Iowa, and I thank you for the invitation to dinner altho it's likely to be summer before I can set the date when I'll be near enough to accept it.
Don't know about getting out of the Army.  There are a lot of promotions due within the next few weeks and there is a slight possibility that I may be one of the lucky ones.  I'm not counting on it but there's a chance I think.
Give your mother my best greeting and say "howdy" to Neil and his wife for me.
I hope you and your mother have a real "Merry Christmas" and a most prosperous and Happy New Year.
