Page Four FANTASY NEWS VOICE OF FANDOM by Our Readers. Lincoln, Nebr: The July 28 issue of FN is quite satisfactory. I believe it is considerably improved over the three or four issues you sent me in May or June. Do you handle Science Fiction, Future Fiction, and Science Fiction Quarterly through your subscription service? So far as I have not been able to discover, these mags are not sold in Lincoln. Gerry de la Ree has told me that in Westwood, only one store handles them, and that this store handled no others. A similar condition may prevail here. I have subscribed to Science Fiction but not the other two; so if you handle them, let me know, and I will make use of your agency. In fact a complete list of the mags you handle would be welcome, as I subscribe to only a few, but intend to subscribe to all the regular stf mags. Seems to me that Paul has done his best illustration of the year for Bond's "The Ultimate Salient" in PS, even better than his work in FFM and FNovels. Rosenthal, PS's "find" also has some good drawings,—but I'm no art critic, "The Sage Of Salt Creek" D.B. Thompson. SCIENTIFILMS by Mario Racic, Jr. Producer Alexander Korda has written an original screen play for his wife, Merle Oberon, to be titled, "I Have Been Here Before". The first line of Dante Gabriel Rossetti's poem furnishes the idea for the plot, which deals with the inexplicable sensation of having been before at some strange place when actually such is not the case. A new point which makes the floors of a room invisible to the camera and gives the effect of the players walking around in space is used for the first time in RKO's unique mystery drama, "Stranger On the Third Floor", in which Peter Lorre is to play the title role. According to the director, the combination of invisible floors and new lighting effects produce the nearest thing to the third dimension yet seen on the screen. Walt Disney's "Fantasia" which has been in production for the past two years will have its premiere in New York in November. The full length musical fantasy will for the first time show humans in an animated feature. Paul Dukas weird musical poem, "The Sorcerer's Apprentice" will be part of this feature.
