WORLD RELATEDNESS You can get acquainted with foreign students on campus and help them feel welcome by investing your time in the YWCA Nation and World Commission. You'll participate in discussions on current problems in the United States and abroad and try to promote greater understanding among people of all nationalities. COMMUNITY SERVICE If you join this committee, you'll be working for improved relationships with townspeople. The members assist with local fund drives, maintain a baby sitting service, prepare baskets for the needy at Thanksgiving and Christmas, and entertain underprivileged children at Easter. They serve as Girl Scout counselors and teach some Girl Scout projects. You will find this committee's work very rewarding. SPECIAL PROJECTS YWCA fund-raising activities fall under the heading of Special Projects. If you participate in this committee, you'll be involved in preparations for the annual book sale, Silver Tea, Mother's Day corsage sale, and other money-making drives. The Homecoming badge sale each fall, one of the YWCA's most widely known projects, will also fall in your domain as a member of this group. CAMPUS AND PERSONAL LIFE Social Usage is the theme of the Campus and Personal Life Committee. As a member you'll have fun participating in the preparation of various events which are directed towards correct social usage as related to you-a college coed. This includes table courtesies, bridal etiquette, and many other social usage problems which often confront college girls. CHRISTIAN FAITH AND HERITAGE You can help interpret the Christian faith for members of the campus community if you help with this committee. Skeptics, a group meeting monthly under the leadership of faculty members, discusses moral and ethical problems affecting student life. It is sponsored by the Christian Faith and Heritage Commission. Religious groups on campus cooperate with the group in planning vesper services and other religious observances. 30
