Map Strategy Because all new places look big and strange on first inspection, let's get acquainted with SUI's campus. On our maps of Iowa City, the focal point of the campus is Old Capitol, whose gold dome sparkles in the sunlight and proudly salutes new students at SUI. Old Capitol, once the home of the state government, is now the administrative center of the University, and President Hancher's office is found here. Surrounding Old Capitol is a group of four buildings that complete what is called the Pentacrest. These buildings are Macbride Hall, Schaeffer Hall, (the office of the dean of the College of Liberal Arts is found here), Physics Building, and University Hall (the business office and the office of Student Affairs are located here). The Pentacrest is the heart of the campus and the center of activities at SUI. 4
