{Drawing of woman lying on her stomach looking at a map of SUI} At the bottom of the hill to the left of the Pentacrest are the University Library, the Engineering Building and the Communications Center, and to the right is the Iowa Memorial Union and the Women's Physical Education Building. Across the bridge to the west are the Art Building and the University Theatre, resting as ease along the banks of the Iowa River. Also across the Iowa River and up the hill are the University Hospitals and Student Health Center, the Law Building, the football stadium, the Field House, the new Pharmacy Building, the Men's Residence Halls, and Westlawn (the senior nursing dormitory). Returning to the Pentacrest, facing the east, you can now survey the Iowa CIty business district. There are two local banks to serve you, and retail stores that will cash your checks upon presentation of your student identification card which you will receive upon admission to SUI. Travel connections in and out of Iowa City may be made through the Rock Island Railroad, Ozark Airlines, and several bus lines. United Airlines is in Cedar Rapids, which is a thirty-minute bus ride from Iowa City. Iowa City is equipped to serve the University and you. Further east is East Hall, center of the Speech Pathology, Psychology, and Education departments. Nearby are the Music buildings. Now making a left flank turn at the Pentacrest, you are facing the northern section of the campus. In this direction the layout includes North Hall, the Geology Building, the Dental Building (which has an efficient clinic, manned by faculty and students, to serve you at low cost), and the Chemistry Building. And exactly three blocks north of the Pentacrest are the Women's Residence Halls, Burge and Currier. Using Old Capitol as the center of your campus map, you can't get lost in Iowa City. And even if you get a bit confused and awed by the "bigness" of SUI, just stop, smile, and chat with the army of bypassing students. Then you'll discover the warmth and friendly helpfulness of SUI. 5
