Christian Heritage The YWCA girl enjoys Christian Heritage, which stimulates study of different religions and literature. It promotes better understanding of the Christian faith in a way that is meaningful. Groups meet for worship and study. One vesper service is held each semester. These services are open to the public. Campus and Personal Life This program offers a series of lecture-discussion groups dealing with social usage as related to campus life. The programs will be open to all students on campus and will give help in what to wear, what to stay, and how to act at home, in public gatherings, on trips, and interviewing for a job. Hospital Board Helping others brings personal joy and satisfaction. The YWCA makes others happy with volunteer programs such as the hospital board service. Working with, and entertaining hospital patients is a rewarding experience. As a member of this group, you may serve on one of five committees: crippled children, visitation, reading, Oakdale (tuberculosis sanatorium), and transportation. Community Service The Community Service Committee does a great deal in helping Iowa City children in Girl Scout troops and in city recreational activities. Our babysitting service is widely used by campus and town women. 25
