PROVIDENCE, R. I. E. F. ALBEE OF NOV. 8th, 1920 I am not very enthusiastic over this week's bill. The greatest trouble is with the headline act. These things seem to be getting poorer and poorer as they are produced, and unless they are particularly good, I don't think I want to play any more of them. I would rather divide my money up into several good acts. CHAS. LOVENBERG. ROLLS & ROYCE: Young man and woman in an act of dancing. They are good steppers, but they are absolutely devoid of class and all I can say of them is that they are a fairly good act, not worth any more than what they are getting, although they are clamoring for an increase of salary. 10 min. in one. JARVIS & HARRISON: Put in to replace Ed. Norton who was taken ill. These people have a little talking act with (special scenery) that does not amount to a great deal. 16 min. in 1-1/2. ANY HOME: A clever sketch not very well played, but nevertheless seemed to please. A worth while act for any bill. 14 min. full stage. ARTHUR & MORTON HAVEL: Talking act with a little singing and dancing. Fairly good. 15 min. in one. EXTRA DRY: Does not mean anything at all. 35 min. of dreary waste, full stage. YVETTE RUGEL: Miniature prima donna who went very well indeed and her finish with Johnny Dooley at the matinee was a riot. Fortunately for us, Mr. Dooley is playing in town and we will have the benefit of his presence at the matinees. 18 min. in one. STEPHENS & HOLLISTER: This is one of the best acts on the bill. While I don't think I would ordinarily figure it for this spot, it was the only thing to do with this bill. They have a very pleasing act, well put on and well played. 20 min. open full stage, close in one. GALLETTIE & KOKIN: With their trained baboons and dancing. A good novelty laughing act, which makes a good closing. 13 min. full stage. CUTS: JARVIS & HARRISON: Cut "What will we sit on?" That is an embarrasing question. A. & M. HAVEL: Cut the line "When she goes to bed, you take the air." EXTRA DYRY: Cut the verse entirely about Moses in the bulrushes. Have ladies appear in tights instead of bare legs.
