PROVIDENCE, R. I. E. F. ALBEE OF NOV. 15th, 1920 The bill as a whole this week is satisfactory, although it has a couple of rather weak spots. CHAS. LOVENBERG. NOLAN & NOLAN: Comedy juggler assisted by a young woman who hands him various articles. The man's work is quite good and makes a satisfactory opener. 12 min. open in 1-1/2, close in one. DAVE ROTH: I had no reason at the performance yesterday to change my mind of what I thought of him when he appeared for us a few years ago. He was an absolute failure then and with the same act today, he is a failure once more. I cannot conceive how he can manage to go as well as I hear he does in first class houses. 12 min. in one. WILFRED CLARKE & COMPANY: I am sorry to say that these people who have always done so well for us failed to score because of the fact that they have a very poor vehicle. 13 min. full stage. MALETA [BONCONI?]: Violinist - probably the best we have in vaudeville, who met with her usual success in this city. 13 min. in one. BROWN & WESTON: Two young women in a series of songs and dances who are assisted by a pianist. An exceptionally good dancing act, but "ye gods" the salary. 20 min. full stage. WALTER WEEMS: Monologist, with some old and some new material. Got plenty of laughs and applause. 18 min. in one. HYAMS & MCINTYRE: In What is to my mind the best playlet in vaudeville as well as the best played. This is the sort of thing that we like and which our audiences enjoy as was proven by the very strong applause and plenty of laughs throughout. 23 min. full stage. LILLIAN SHAW: To say that Miss Shaw met with success would be putting it mildly, she simply mopped up. A great comedy act that made good in every particular. 25 min. in one. BALLY HOO TRIO: 2 men and one woman in an act consisting of a little singing, dancing, contortion work and comedy. Better as an opener, but managed to hold the spot. 8 min. full stage.
