PHILADELPHIA B. F. KEITH'S NOVEMBER 29th 20 KINOGRAMS & "TOPICS OF THE DAY" - Up to the usual average SAMAROFF & SONIA - (6 mins.) - Man and girl in Russian dances and acrobatics. Two dogs are used in the act and it did very well in the opening spot. CARNEY & ROSE - A man and woman, singing and talking. Their talk has plenty of snap to it and got a goodly amount of laughs. Closed to a good hand. (13 mins.) "THE HAUNTED VIOLIN" - (15 mins.) The first novelty of this kind we have played in a long time and it got over in very good shape. It depends entirely how seriously the audience accepts it, but, in this case, it was very well received. SYDNEY GRANT - (17 mins.) He did very well with about the same line of material he has used on past visits here. He was very well received, finishing strong. ROYE & RUDAC - (12 mins.) A very pretty dancing number that got over on its merits. As miss Rudac is a Philadelphia girl there was special interest shown in her work and the act scored solidly. SYBIL VANE - (16 mins.) One of the applause hits of the show. She was in excellent voice, has chosen a popular program and finished very strong. ARMAN KALIE & COMPANY - (36 mins.) Despite the fact that this act was handicapped through a late arrival, which prevented a smooth performance being given, they held down the headline honors in a very satisfactory manner. It is very elaborate, beautifully staged and costumed, and contains a lot of catchy music. A big flash feature that was thoroughly appreciated. MILLER & MACK - (12 mins.) This act was the same riot of laughs as the last time we played it. Their material is about the same, but is in a scream of rough comedy from start to finish. THE VALENTEENS - (5 mins.) A very showy aerial act with a lot of trick apparatus that gave us a very good closing number for this show. GENERAL REMARKS - This is very much of a "class" show and the first one of the kind we have had in several weeks. The headline feature did not show to its best advantage, but the act is there as a flash and will do well the rest of the week. - CUTS - CARNEY & ROSE - Modify remarks -"Now that you have put on some clothes I can keep my mind on your face." Also where girl says "I am going in to take off my clothes. Will you be here when I come back? Oh yes! I'll be here."
