PHILADELPHIA B.F.KEITH'S JANUARY 3rd 21. KINOGRAMS & "TOPICS OF THE DAY" - Very good. RAYMOND WILBERT - (13 mins.) Mixing a variety of juggling tricks with some smart comedy talk this fellow did very nicely in the opening spot. TRANSFIELD SISTERS - (15 mins.) A very nice little musical act. The girls play several different instruments, sing a couple of numbers and closed strong with a xylophone duet. HERMINE SHONE in "The New Moon" - (28 mins.) A pretty playlet, very elaborately and artistically staged. It is quiet and a little long but got over with fairly good results without creating anything more than a good impression. JACK BENNY - (15 mins.) A corking good single that got over great, being one of the big applause hits of the bill. He plays a little violin, but depends mostly on his comedy chatter for laughs and he got a lot of them. Closed very strong. If anyone is looking for a good comedy act in one, here it is. KARYL NORMAN - "The Creole Fashion Plate" - (28 mins.) His second week and he was just as big a hit as he was the opening day of his engagement. They made him sing a couple of extra numbers and he finished with a neat little speech of thanks. SPENCER & WILLIAMS - (19 mins.) A very good comedy talking and singing act by a man and woman. Their material has plenty of snap to it and the man is an excellent comedian. They held this spot in very good shape and closed to a good hand. EMMA CARUS - (20 mins.) Started a little slowly at first but picked up rapidly with some new songs and when she struck her dancing bits she closed to a very big hand. WEAVER BROS. - (10 mins.) This act proved quite a musical novelty with the two men in rube make-up. Did very well in the next to closing spot and the change in the running order made their chances even better. The act made good and should fit in almost any kind of a bill. ADELAIDE BELL - (11 mins.) A dancing act somewhat different than we have been playing and it did very well in the closing position. The girl is a remarkable loose dancer and drew frequent bits of applause besides closing strong. GENERAL REMARKS - There was plenty of excellent material in this show and although it needed some changing around it went over in good shape. With the necessary changes it ought to be a great show. CUTS Raymond Wilbert - Eliminate words "Good God" and the "Flu". As Caruso is very ill, do not mention him at all. New Running Order A. Orchestra B. Kinograms C. Raymond Wilbert D. Transfield Sisters E. Hermine Shone F. Spencer & Williams G. Emma Carus H. Jack Benny I. Karyl Norman J. Weaver Bros. K. Adelaide Bell L. Exit March
