PROVIDENCE. R. I. E. F. ALBEE JAN. 17, 1921 The bill this week is hardly up to our usual standard, not that any of the acts are poor, but there is nothing of any particular punch or special merit. The acts are all of an even nature, while all went well, there is nothing in the show that would draw any money. CHAS. LOVENBERG. LAURA & BILLY DRYER: Dancing act with special draperies which serves as an opener and may be classed as a fair act. 10 min. full stage. DUVAL & SYMONDS: Man and woman in a little talking skit and some pretty bright lines; the people have splendid personalties and this also serves its purpose in this spot. 15 min. in one. FRED LINDSAY: Well known Austalian bushwhip expert who has the only real novelty on the bill, and the only one that really means anything of a drawing nature, other than possibly Will Ward. Very good act. 13 min. full stage. CASEY & WARREN: The man of this team is quite a clever comedian of the silly English type and the woman is a good foil. They have some very fine repartee concerning a dog which they bring on the stage and the whole act is unusual and desirable. A good comedy act. 15 min. in one. WILL WARD & HIS GIRLS: Mr. Ward is a native of Providence and may have a little value that way. He got considerable applause, but the act seems to me to have deteriorated. He is not singing nearly as well as he did and the girls do not seem to be as clever as those of his former companies. 28 min. full stage. SENATOR MURPHY: Political monologist who got many laughs. A very good act. 13 min. in one. DAVIS & DARNELL: "Birdseed" - Clever little skit well played particularly by Mr. Davis. Evidently pleased. 13 min. in two. TRIXIE FRIGANZA: Miss Friganza has a likable personality and got quite a few laughs, nevertheless she is not worth to this house the money that she gets. 18 min. in one. STRASSELL'S ANIMALS: I was led to believe that this act included a pony, a dog and two seals. All we got was the two seals which do some clever work, a number of the tricks being new and unusual. At the night show however one of the seals was sick and the act suffered materially. 9 min. full stage. CUTS: MISS DRYER: Please wear stocking or tights - do not appear in bare legs. DUVAL & SYMONDS:-Cut the suggestion of "What the Hell"? WILL WARD:- Cut "Hell" - & "Damn" TRIXIE FRIGANZA:- Cut "Damn"
