PHILADELPHIA B. F. KEITH'S THE February 14th, 1 KINOGRAMS & TOPICS OF THE DAY - Pictures just fair. "Topics" good. CARL EMMY'S PETS - (14 mins.) One of the best dog acts we play and also one of the best handled. POLLY & OZ - (14 mins.) This act started very light but picked up and closed to a good hand through the help of a couple of comedy songs. WILL J. WARD & GIRLS - (23 mins/) Although Mr. Ward was suffering from a heavy cold and did not sing, the act went over as a sure-fire hit. He has two or three girls who put over great songs and the act, as usual, makes a big musical flash. Closed very strong. RUBY NORTON - (20 mins.) She was in splendid voice and everyone of her songs went over big. She was a rousing hit and closed to a big hand. SARAH PADDEN in "The Cheap Woman" - (18 mins.) One of the best dramatic sketches we have played in a long time. It is not only a great human interest story but splendidly played. Held interest from start to finish and closed very strong, Miss Padden being forced to take a couple of extra bows. WILSON BROS. - (12 mins.) Following the dramatic sketch their comedy went over with a bang. They have a lot of good material, handle it well. Their songs scored a good sized laughing hit and closed to a good hand. MISS JULIET - (26 mins.) A big applause hit all through her act. She has a lot of new impersonations and stands out as class in all of them. She had the audience calling for their favorites and could have held the stage indefinitely. SWIFT & KELLEY - (17 mins.) Their quiet comedy was quite a contrast to the fast moving show ahead of them, but they held the next to closing position in excellent shape, repeating very well with the act they did her last year. OSBORNE TRIO - (9 mins.) A man and woman with a little boy as top mounter in a routine of very showy acrobatics. The youngster is a wonder and the act made a very good impression in the closing position. GENERAL REMARKS - This is an excellent show that played at fast speed from start to finish and the drive for the Hoover Fund, which lasted about six minutes, had no effect on it whatever. Plenty of music and comedy and the entire bill proved satisfactory. Ruby Norton and Swift & Kelley changed places after the first show.
