PHILADELPHIA B. F. KEITH'S April 4th, 1 KINOGRAMS & "TOPICS OF THE DAY" - Both just fair. LORNER GIRLS - (13 Mins.) Very lively dancing act by two girls, with a piano accompanist. They make several changes and do a variety of steps. Were a big hit in the opening spot. SIDNEY & TOWNLEY - (15 mins.) This is just an ordinary comedy singing and talking act by a man and woman until the finish when they put over an eccentric dance that took them off to a big hand. MARIE & MARY McFARLAND - (9 mins.) A high class singing act and it got over in great shape. It is their first time here in several seasons and their mixed program of operatic and popular music, was very well received. Closed very strong. DEMAREST & COLLETTE - (20 mins.) A big laughing hit was scored by this comedy team. They mix laughs with music and had no trouble in scoring solidly from start to finish. DUFFEY & MANN - (17 mins.) A comedy talking turn by a man and woman. They have some very good material and handle it nicely. Got plenty of laughs and finished to a very good hand. MAE & ROSE WILTON - (18 mins.) One of the applause hits of the bill, as usual. Their act is about the same as on former visits but they have changed their repertoire of songs. Finished very strong. WILLIAM & GORDON DOOLEY - (41 mins.) This act, taking into consideration its cost, was a very serious disappointment and failed to make much of an impression. This is due to two reasons; first, that one of the boys has a severe case of tonsilitis, being hardly able to talk, which reduced the "pep" of the Dooleys' work, and also the fact that the company surrounding the Dooleys, outside of the girl dancer, is very mediocre. Following a show with lots of life and plenty of comedy the Dooley act fell down badly, but we hope that as Dooley feels better the act will improve. MANG & SNYDER -(5 mins.) These boys have a very good hand-to-hand balancing act and in the closing position got all there was to be had out of the audience. They work with plenty of speed and earned a big hand. GENERAL REMARKS - While the headline act was rather disappointing the rest of the show was a big hit, every act scoring, and with the feature going right it will improve. CUTS SIDNEY & TOWNLEY - Thumbing of nose by girl. WILTON SISTERS - Remark "Jewish branch of the Knights of Columbus"
