PHILADELPHIA B. F. KEITH'S MAY 9th, 1921. PATHE NEWS & "TOPICS OF THE DAY" - Pictures not quite as good as last week. "Topics" average very good. DALY & BERLEW - (8 mins.) This boy and girl are excellent speed dancers. Not much fancy stepping but the whirlwind stuff is very well done and they did exceedingly well as an opener. FRAWLEY & LOUISE - (13 mins.) Only a fair comedy act by a man and woman, whose material at times is very crude. He does very well with his singing and they finish with a duet that did well but the act hardly rises above the fair class. MARCELLE FALLET - (12 mins.) Added to our regular program through a misunderstanding in booking, she went on without any advance notice or programing. Did splendidly and is a good violinist. Numbers all classical but she plays with a great deal of expression and was a big applause hit in this spot. She is accompanied by a lady at the piano. GEORGIA CAMPBELL - (21 mins.) A very classy looking singing turn, three good male voices supporting Miss Campbell, whose singing is only fair. Act appeals strictly to an audience that enjoys old-time songs rather than new music. Made a fair impression and finished to a nice hand without starting much applause. JIM & MARION HARKINS - (15 mins.) A local turn that was a very good comedy hit and will do better as the week goes on. He has a couple of good songs and his usual chatter got plenty of laughs. The act closed to a good hand. MAY WIRTH & FAMILY - (16 mins.) Still stands as the best riding act in vaudeville and a tremendous applause hit. Has plenty of comedy to liven it up and the whirlwind riding had the audience in an uproar. Took several bows. [BERNARD & TOWNES?] - (20 mins.) A big applause hit with snappy songs and comedy talk, finishing with some lively eccentric stepping, taking several bows. NAT NAZARRO, Jr. - (17 mins.) Some good dancing with plenty of variety is introduced during this act and was a prime factor in putting the act over as a big applause hit. The jazz band did only fairly well but the act as a whole was very satisfactory and brought big returns, closing strong. The dancing by the girl in this act is very good. JOE DARCEY - (23 mins.) The songs used put this act over, as the comedy talk is a little rough and did not do so well. He has a very good voice and knows how to put songs over. This carried him through to a hit in the next to closing position, which he held very well. SULLY, ROGERS & SULLY - (6 mins.) Very good work on the trampolin bars by three men in comedy make-up. GENERAL REMARKS - With the addition of an extra act gave us plenty of show this week but it played through very satisfactorily and there were three or four big applause hits. We had warm weather and the circus against us but got a very good start. CUTS FRAWLEY & LOUISE -Line in joke "I am troubled with worms." Gag about "fire escape." JIM & MARION HARKINS - Remark "He talks like his father must have been his mother." Line in song "The rich get richer and the poor get children." Words "Agate" "Hell" and "Devil" JOE DARCEY - "join Ireland"; "Hotel Vendig", "hell of a night" "red necktie" "Four queens" "Shimmy story".
