PHILADELPHIA B. F. KEITH'S MAY 23rd, 1921. PATHE & "TOPICS" - Pictures good. "Topics" fair average. LADY ALICE'S PETS - (10 mins.) Undoubtedly one of the very best animal novelties in vaudeville and a splendid opener. With the numerous animals and birds it is an act that commands attention on appearance alone and it did very well. JEAN GRANESE - (16 mins.) Cleaned up a big hit in this spot, which was none too favorable to her. The work of the two men in the audience added a comedy touch and the singing finish brought them plenty of applause. CAPT. "POP" ANSON - (21 mins.) Did very well and was warmly welcomed. The sketch itself brought light results but will probably do very nicely on Anson's personal draw. MARY HAYNES - (18 mins.) A big applause hit, being new here and having a lot of snappy material, which she handles in splendid style, she had the house going strong all through her act. She took several bows and then had to do an extra number. A very good comedy singing single. DOC. BAKER in "Flashes" - (20 mins.) This act is a good flash and with some catchy songs and Baker's quick changes it is a pleasing novelty. It is nicely staged and costumed and was given a good hand. ELINORE & WILLIAMS - (19 mins.) Did about the same as usual for this act. MME. DOREE'S OPERALOGUE - (24 mins.) - She has assembled some excellent voices for her newest grand opera tabloid and staged the act attractively. It was very well received by the lovers of this sort of music and held down the spot in very good fashion. MEL KLEE - (22 mins.) His material got a lot of laughs and he finished to a good hand with his songs. Depending principally on gossip about the other acts on the bill for his comedy he put over a very satisfactory turn and closed to a good hand. BUD SNYDER, JOE MELINO COMPANY - (12 mins.) Held down the closing position very well, the comedy of the two comedians making good support for the trick riding of the straight man and the act gave very good windup for this bill. GENERAL REMARKS - Having very hot weather to contend with this show got over splendidly and with any kind of a break on the weather ought to do well all week. CUTS BUD SNYDER, JOE MELINO CO.- Do not thumb nose.
