PHILADELPHIA B. F. KEITH'S AUGUST 1st 1 PATHE WEEKLY & "TOPICS" - Very good average. MELNOTTE DUO - (11 mins.) Two men in feats of balancing and wire tricks. Their work is showy and they made a very good opener. JACK HANLEY - (10 mins.) This fellow is a very good comedy juggler and scored solidly in this spot. RICE & NEWTON - (13 mins.) Man and woman singing and talking. A good sized comedy hit was registered by this couple, the man topping it off with some unusually clever acrobatic work. HIGGINS & BATES - (16 mins.) These girls, formerly with the Harry Carroll act, have a very nice dancing number that should develop as the girls are good dancers. They use a piano player and have a good variety of stuff. D. D. H. - (19 mins.) One of the biggest laughing and applause hits of any male single. we have had in some time and a bit hit and this show. WILLIAM KENT - in "Shivers" - (20 mins.) This sketch was a big laugh winner for us and an excellent comedy vehicle for Kent, a comedian of popularity as well as talent. The sketch is very well played. HARRY & ANNA SEYMOUR - (17 mins.) This act did as well as usual for us with about the same line of material they have been using. Finished strong. HENRY SANTREY - ((39 mins.) No musical act that we have played since Santrey and His Band first appeared here last October has scored as big as he did in this show. He has almost an entirely new routine of songs as well as band selections, and was a terrific hit. THE CASTILLIANS - (9 mins.) One of the prettiest posing acts we have ever played, and it put an artistic finish to our bill that was warmly appreciate. AESOP'S FABLES - (5 mins.) One of the very best of the series and it held the house in great shape. GENERAL REMARKS - Henry Santrey is not only a big hit here but a great draw and with a favorable break in the weather he packed our house. The whole show plays well. CUTS D. D. H.- Reference to William Jennings Bryan being a "flivver"
