PHILADELPHIA B. F. KEITH'S AUGUST 8th 1 PATHE WEEKLY AND "TOPICS OF THE DAY" - Pictures very good. "Topics" fair. MARTIN & MOORE - (7 mins.) A man and woman in flying rings and hand balancing. Good routine, well handled, made a very good opener. GREEN & MYRA - (12 mins.) Man and woman in songs and violin. Did very nicely with an ordinary routine of numbers. AL WHITE'S REVIEW - (28 mins.) A local production with about twenty children and a young man principal. A very good summer season feature that created a lot of local interest. Some of the dancing by the children is exceptionally good and the act really made a very good impression in this spot on general merits. DORIS DUNCAN - (18 mins.) A pleasing voice in a good selection of songs, nicely delivered, got her over in very good shape. She was very well received and closed strong. A new single that should develop. CECIL LEAN and CLEO MAYFIELD - (24 mins.) In "Reheersing" - Probably the best vehicle this couple has used in vaudeville and it scored a big hit. It is different in construction, has comedy running all through it and their songs are especially good. They took several bows at the finish. DE HAVEN & NICE - (18 mins.0 A good sized comedy hit. Got plenty of laughs and closed strong. CHARLES WITHERS in "For Pity's Sake" - (27 mins.) Just as big a hit as any time we have played it in the past. Closed very big. JACK MCGOWAN - (16 mins.) Popularity gained during his long engagement here with the musical show "Mary" got him a big reception and his act did very well in the next to closing spot. Depending entirely upon straight singing he uses his voice to good advantage and made a very good impression. BURNS BROS. - (5 mins.) They have a very good routine of hand-to-hand tricks and execute them in a showy fashion. Did very well in the closing spot. AESOP'S FABLES - Up to the average of former series. GENERAL REMARKS - Very good summer show and with three strong drawing acts got an excellent start. Whole show pleased and should give us a good week's business with anything like favorable weather. CUTS DE HAVEN & NICE - Eliminate line referring to Henry Ford rebuilding Palentine. CHARLES WITHERS - Eliminate "Mary Pickford fighting for her honor."
