PHILADELPHIA B. F. KEITH'S SEPTEMBER 26th 1 Aesop's FABLES & "TOPICS OF THE DAY" - (12 mins.) Very good. THE JOANNYS - (12 mins.) Shadowgraphists with a very good routine of pictures nicely presented. Very well received and a good opener. LEONORE KERN - (13 mins.) This girl has a pleasing voice and appearance and is a fair violinist. She varies her work and was nicely received. HANDERS & MILLIS - (13 mins.) These boys scored a big comedy hit with their eccentric comedy and dancing. They have some new stuff and get all that is possible out of it. HOWARD LANGFORD & INA FREDERICKS - (17 mins.) "Shopping" - This sketch is unchanged from last season. It is a clever light comedy vehicle, well done, and contains plenty of laughs. Closed strong. JOE TOWLE - (19 mins.) His act although very little changed went even better than the last time we played him. Had no trouble getting laughs and closed strong. RUTH BUDD - (10 mins.) With her new song opening, followed by her sensational aerial work, she was a big applause winner. A splendid act with lots of "Show" to it. EMMA CARUS - (24 mins.) One of the very best act she has ever given here and it went over fine. The songs are good and she is working with plenty of "pep". A big laugh winner and closed strong. GERTRUDE HOFFMANN and Her American Ballet - (48 mins.) Despite the fact that the act opened brand new here it went over in great shape and was a sensational hit. It is the most attractive, in color and dressing, that Miss Hoffmann has produced in years, if ever. She is supported by a company of dancers whose work as a whole surpasses anything of the kind we have ever had. Too much credit cannot be given to Miss Hoffmann for this production, which has created more talk than any act of hers in the past ten years. Even in its raw state it promises to be a hit of great magnitude on any bill. The music is fine and the costuming and effects are beautiful. MILLER & MACK - (11 mins.) These boys, as usual, were a big hit. They are locals but aside from this are always a big comedy hit on our bills. FANTINO SISTERS - (6 mins.) A very pretty aerial novelty on rings with four persons in the act. Made a very good closing number and did fine at the end of a long show. PATHE NEWS - Very good. GENERAL REMARKS - With the opposition opening against us this show drew capacity at the Monday matinee and was a sure fire hit bill from start to finish. CUTS JOE TOWLE - Elimination of the word "Hell".
