PHILADELPHIA B. F. KEITH'S October 3rd, 1 AESOP'S FABLES & "TOPICS OF THE DAY" - Very good. DARE BROTHERS - (6 mins.) Very good hand balancing act by two men. Made a very good opener. JOHN SULLY & MURIELL THOMAS - (13 mins.) This couple did very nicely in this spot. Their material is snappy and well handled. IVAN BANKOFF - (17 mins.) One of the big applause hits of the bill which he deserved to be. It is all class and one of the prettiest dancing acts we have had. MRS. HATHEWAY TURNBULL - (22 mins.) Her lecture on animals was really a surprise to our audience and was given a great deal of attention. Her talk is interesting and her pictures especially pleasing to the women. It is something out of the ordinary for vaudeville and did very well for us. EDDIE FOY & FAMILY - (18 mins.) The new act got over as well as anything he has ever done here and got him a great deal of applause, enough to bring him back for a speech of thanks. ANN GRAY - (12 mins.) Her selections are very quiet but despite this she was a big hit with our music loving patrons and was very well received. SOPHIE TUCKER - ((38 mins.) With the house packed with a Jewish holiday crowd she was a positive sensation, one of the biggest applause hits we have ever had in the house. Nearly all her songs are new, prettily staged and her whole act shows a desire on her part to give vaudeville something with class to it along the line of jazz. She succeeded admirably and could have stayed on the stage an hour. BILLY GLASON - (20 mins.) He followed Miss Tucker with a great laughing hit, being fitted just right in the next to closing spot on this show. While his material is little changed since last season he went over very big. CHANDON TRIO - (5 mins.) A very good aerial act, plenty of show and nicely presented. It did especially well closing this bill and drew frequently bits of applause. GENERAL REMARKS - An ideal bill for the Jewish holidays. It played to capacity audiences on Monday and Tuesday and created more talk than any bill we have had in a long time. With Nora Bayes topping the opposition the house was sold out long before the other people got started and the whole show played wonderfully from start to finish.
