PHILADELPHIA B.F.KEITH'S WEEK NOV. 7th, 1 AESOP'S FABLES & "TOPICS OF THE DAY" - The usual average. FOUR AMERICAN ACES - (6 mins.) Very good casting act by four men and a good opener. FOLEY & LETURE - (14 mins.) This boy and girl did very nicely with bits of talk, song and dance, winning a liberal hand for their efforts. RAYMOND BOND in "Remnants" (20 mins.) An excellent comedy sketch played by two people. It is a William Hodge sort of playlet and very well done. Made a very good impression. DAISY NELLIS - (14 mins.) This young lady is a brilliant pianist and while her program appeals especially to lovers of classical music, it was generally liked and she was warmly applauded. RAY RAYMOND & MELODY CHARMERS - (25 mins.) A classy musical turn that was very well liked and generously received. Raymond is a clever light comedian with a good voice and the girls give him excellent support. LYNN & SMYTHE - (11 mins.) This is the same act done last season by Basil Lynn & Harry Mayo. It is nicely handled as a talking act and with the singing of Smythe got over very nicely. BESSIE CLAYTON - (44 mins.) Without doubt the biggest applause winner we have played in a long time, if ever, and a ideal headline feature for our anniversary Week bill. It brought solid rounds of applause, almost every minute it was in action. Too much credit cannot be given to Miss Clayton for her individual work, as well as arranging something that is worth enthusing over. It has caused more talk here this week than any act we have played in many years and is a positive triumph for Miss Clayton and her associates. HARRY FOX - (23 mins.) As may be judged his task of following the Clayton act was none too easy, but he held the spot in splendid fashion, got a lot of laughs and finished strong, which is saying a great deal for him under the conditions he had to work. NIOBE - (11 mins.) A novelty that interested our patrons and got some applause. It is a little bit different and served satisfactorily to close this particular show. PATHE NEWS - Some very good pictures of Pershing and other notables now visiting this country featured this week's release and the reel was more than ordinarily pleasing. GENERAL REMARKS - This was our Nineteenth Anniversary and with an exceptional bill that pleased generally, the show held up its part of the program. We gave our usual annual Chrysanthemum display, a beautiful floral exhibition and with the house in its winter attire and the employees wearing their new winter costumes the picture was one of we feel very proud and, no doubt, pleased our patrons. CUTS Harry Fox - "Thank God for that."
