PROVIDENCE E. F. ALBEE NOVEMBER 28, 1921 This is one of the best vaudeville shows we have ever played. I don't believe I have ever heard as much applause and laughter as given Gallagher & Shean and Burns and Freda, while McLallen & Carson ran closely behind them. This is the sort of show and at a price that should bring results. CHARLES LOVENBERG BINS & GRILL - Two men in very unusual feats of hand balancing. An exceptionally good act of its kind. 7 minutes in two can work in one. THE MILLER GIRLS - Two young girls, evidently in their teens, who give a fair act of violin, piano playing and dancing. 13 minutes in one. McLALLEN AND CARSON - While this is supposed to be a skating act that part of the presentation, while very clever, takes up the least of its time. The rest is given over to comedy of an exceptionally good quality which makes a distinct hit. 22 minutes short opening in one, full stage and long close in one. RUBY NORTON - Miss Norton is repeating her success of last year with material somewhat better than her previous offering. 23 minutes in two, can work in one. GALLAGHER & SHEAN - Somewhat through peevishness, these men did not score as strongly at the matinee as they should have, but after a talking to and an appeal to their pride, they went on at the night show and cleaned up tremendously. No act could make a bigger hit. 20 minutes in one. ANDERSON & BURT - In a novel sketch, the scene set on the top of a mountain peak in the Alps and two honeymooners mountain climbing. Very good offering indeed. 17 minutes full stage. BURNS & FREDA - Italian Comedians with much the same material that has been offered on other occasions but somehow seemed to go better than ever. It was a toss up whether they or Gallagher and Shean were the bigger hit, but there was no doubt that Burns and Freda were the stronger when it came to the travesty on Gallagher and Shean in which the latter two also appeared. That was the biggest hit of anything of the kind ever in the theatre. All together 25 minutes in one. MME. BRADNA & CO. - Gives us a new act this year, introducing riding, trained hoses, dogs and pigeons. A very pretty offering. 13 minutes full stage.
