31 Robert Hilliard and company, 2 shows, 25 min. full stage--In "Number 973", a melodramatic sketch, played during his last engagement. Listened to with interest all through. Had half a dozen curtain calls at the close. Judging from the people who got up and left at the conclusion of his act, he must have drawn his usual quota. Sallie Stembler, 2 shows, 12 min. in 1--Owing to the fact that she was in such a stiff place in the bill, did not go so well as the last time here. I do not believe that anybody in the business could have held this place, however. Marlo and Aldo, 2 shows, 8 min. full stage--Comedy horizontal bar performers. Very good act of its kind, but too short to be of much use, especially at the tail end of the bill. Biograph, 3 shows, 20 min. in 1--Had eight pictures this week, a miscellaneous assortment of interesting and humorous subjects, but no headline feature. Valveno Brothers, 3 shows, 10 min. in 1--Hand balancers. These two young men give an interesting exhibition of strength and muscular developments, but the act is not in the class with LaVine and Cross. Went very well with a depleted audience. Comments:- With a little rearrangement the show will prove satisfactory, even though there is too much "coon" singing in the early part of it. It is not to be wondered at that the public is growing tired of "coon" ballads, as everybody attempts them, the majority being very poor. The rearrangement tonight will make the show run, on the incoming of the orchestra, as follows: Lavine and Leonard, Mrs. Winslow, Valveno brothers, Rastus and Banks, Patching Brothers, Marlo and Aldo, Sallie Stembler, Hal Stephens, Wallmo and Marietta, Chas. Littlefield, Robert Hilliard and Biograph.
