73 NEW YORK SHOW, WEEK OF MAY 30th. AR 3 STEVENSON.--A magician, and a very good one. He does not do anything particularly new, but he is an exceptionally clever worker and entertained every moment he was on. 17 minutes, open full stage and close in one; could work entirely in one if necessary. NR 3 RADO & BERTRAM.-- A man and a woman in an acrobatic, dancing, and comedy sketch. The woman makes three changes of character and displays considerable versatility, and the man is about as good an acrobatic dancer as I have ever seen. It is a good addition to our 3 show a day material. 18 minutes; open full stage; close in one if necessary. GRR 3 COULTER & STARR.--Black face song and dance team. Two men. The act is about the usual calibre of turns of this nature--neither very strong, nor very bad--but still thoroughly all right from a three a day standpoint. 11 minutes in one. GYH 2 THE ALLISONS.-- A man and a woman in a comedy sketch entitled "Minne from Minnesota," in which the woman plays the part of a Swede servant, which is somewhat of an unusual character in vaudeville, and this woman handles it in great shape. Her dialect and makeup is good. The man is a good light comedian and has a good singing voice. The act has improved wonderfully since it was last here, creating screams of laughter this afternoon. 17 minutes, full stage. NR 3 WILSON & DAVIS.-- Two men in a comedy talking act, one made up straight and the other eccentric. Quite a clever little act and gave entire satisfaction. 18 minutes in one. YRR 2 KLINE, OTT BROS. & NICHOLSON.-- Four men in a straight musical act. There has been a change of one man in this team since they last played us, but I think, if anything, it has been a benefit, for the act seemed to be better than ever. They are all good musicians, and clean looking men. 24 minutes, open full stage and close in one. MRR 2 MERIAN'S DOGS.-- Merian tried this week his mind reading dog to open his act with, and it was not a great success. I presume the dog worked badly for one thing, but the other portion of the act is so strong that I don't think it advisable to use this part of it, although it might be acceptable in some of the houses where they remain three weeks. The act went very strong indeed, and I can only repeat that it is the best troupe of dogs, I think, in the world. 17 minutes, full stage. GRR 2 LEROY & WOOD FORD.--A man and a woman in a talking act in one. These people have been over the circuit before and extended comment is not necessary. They always go very well in this house. 18 minutes in one. GHR 2 C. C. BLANCHARD & ELLA HUGH WOOD.--In a Yankee comedy sketch. The act was not especially well received this afternoon. They got but very few laughs and it was hardly strong enough in the place I had them. Shall exchange places with the Allisons for the night show. 23 minutes, full stage. NR 3 CURTIS & ADAMS.-- A couple of young German comedians in comedy parody singing and dancing. A nice little three show a day act. 19 minutes, full stage. YRR 2 WARD & CURRAN.--In "The Terrible Judge," which duplicated their usual success in this house, for it elicited screams of laughter at nearly every line of their act. 27 minutes, open full stage and close in one. YRR 2 FOUR WELSONS. European ring performers. The same that they did here before, which went very strong indeed. 12 min., full stage. HR 3 BIOGRAPH.-- Presenting two films this week, each of considerable length; one being "The Damnation of Faust," and the other the "Winning of the Brooklyn Handicap." 18 minutes in one. S. K. HODGDON.
