88 Bailey and Madison, 2 shows, 10 min. full stage -- Eccentric comedians, with a hodge-podge of various specialties. Went well. Biograph, 3 shows, 20 min. in 1 -- Much better list of pictures than last week, the principal film being "The Sleep Walker's Dream." Eddie Barto and Mamie Laferty, 3 shows, 10 min. in 1 -- Neat singing and dancing act that could possibly be placed in a better part of the bill if needed. John T. Ray, 3 shows, 14 min. in 1 -- Rube comedian and singer, and eccentric dancer. First time here. Most of his material is stolen from the acts of the late Arthur Sidman, his dialect is poor and general appearance unconvincing. Not much of an act even from the 3-per-day standpoint. Comment. -- The show as a whole is a very good one, but will be weakened some by the withdrawal of LaVeen and Cross, who refuse to do three shows, claiming they were unable to stand the work. As they tackled me in the manner before the show began at all, I do not take much stock in the alleged reason. Weather very warm and the audience light. Only really woke up when Murphy and his company were on.
