163 GRAND OPERA HOUSE WEEK COMMENCING SEPT. 26th, 04. PITTSBURG, PA. STEREOPTICON VIEWS- 15 minutes. CHALK SAUNDERS- 3 shows. 8 minutes in one Olio. Monologue cartoonist. Very good act of the kind for the three a day section. HARRY BROWN- 3 shows- 12 minutes in one. Colored gentleman singing coon songs. This act does not go with us and I do not consider it even good for the three a day section. FREDERICK BROS. & BURNS- 18 minutes, close 4 minutes in one. Parlor interior. Comedy musical act. The comedy portion of this act is painful. While the music is fairly good, the act taken as a whole is not a good one and we would not care to play it a return. STINSON & MERTON- 18 minutes. Open full stage, close 5 minutes in one. This act is very well known on the circuit and is going as well with us as during their previous engagement. EVA MUDGE- 14 minutes, full stage. Carries her own drops. Military maid in quick character changes. This is a neat act and something of a novelty. While Miss Mudge's voice is not very strong, she is going very well. CLIFFORD & BURKE- 13 minutes. Opens in two, closes 6 minutes in one. Black face singing, dancing and talking act. This act is going very well, especially the eccentric dancing. HELENE GERARD- 14 minutes, full stage. Wood. One of the best acts of the kind we have ever played. ITALIAN TRIO- 14 minutes in one- 2 shows. While this act was supposed to do three shows they have a contract for two and refused to do the third one. However, their work is apparently hard and as they are going big with us I did not insist that they do the third. FREDERIC BOND & CO. 25 minutes, full stage. In "My Awful Dad". This act is going very well but not as well as last season as some of the people in the act had to get up in their parts on account of taking off "Lend me Five Shillings" after the first performance, which to us was one of the worst acts we have ever played. LEW SULLY- 18 minutes, full stage. Monologue. while Mr. Sully is going very well for us he is not as big a hit as during his former engagement. Mr. Sully needs some new material. THE FIVE MOWATTS- 8 minutes full stage. Club jugglers. This act is a copy of the Juggling Johnsons and while it is a good act I cannot say that I like it as well as the Johnsons. KINETOGRAPH- "Personal" This film is a very good comedy subject and is going very big with our patrons. DUDLEY & CHESLYN- 15 minutes in one. 3 shows. Singing and dancing act. This is a fair singing and dancing act for the three a day section. LAGETTE- 8 minutes- 3 shows. Full stage. Aerial act. Does very well in the three a day section. J. P. Harris.
