Chase's Empire, Cleveland, week of Sept. 21. Valmour & Horton. Man and woman, in a singing and dancing speciality. Act is well dressed and makes a fair opener. Full stage, closing in one. Georgia Gardner & Joseph Maddern. In a sketch "Too Many Darlings". Neither performer is satisfactory, the woman having a shrill and unpleasant voice, and a crude idea of acting. The sketch is so good that it carried them through and pleased the audience considerably. Talbot & Rogers. Two men, singing and travesty turn. Both are good singers but their travesty is bad. Their act pleased fairly well. Carry special drop and work in one. Charles R. Sweet. Though his act is not changed in the slightest detail, he was as big a hit as of old, and easily the hit of the bill. Full stage, closing on one. Keno, Welch & Montrose. Acrobatic comedians whose excellent acrobatic work is in no way enhanced by the attempts at comedy. Full stage, closing in one. The Colby Family. Their excellent musical act was as satisfactory and successful as usual. The audience was highly pleased. The children carried off the honors. Full stage, closing in one. Elfie Fay. Has added but one new song to her act, but was received as heartily as on her first appearance. In one. Max Smith Duo. Two men who juggle while standing on perpendicular unsupported ladders. A novel and excellent act.
