18 [illegible] [KEITH'S?] [ILLEGIBLE] [ILLEGIBLE ' .] OCT. [15?TH] [Ariello?]-10 mins.-Gar. in [?]-Opens with [illegible] in [cabinet?], showing an excellent [illegible] development. Then works on horizontal bars and [..dental?] Very acceptable act. Received a good hand. The [Harts?]-12 mins. in one-Man and woman, in a straight singing ad dancing act. They [dr?] [only?] and seem to please, [...ially?] with their dancing. Good Three-a-day act. [Neason?] & [Neason?]-10 mins.-Landscape in 4-Two men, [illegible] jugglers. They do about all the regular stunts;missed several times this afternoon in the different tricks;a good "small" [night?] act. Smith & Bowman-12 mins.-C.D.F. in 2-close in one-Two men, real [goons?], at there of "Good Morning, Carrie." Style of act is imitation of Cole Johnson. Of course, they can't touch the latter, either in style or ability. However, they have a good act of its kind, and they may get a better place on the bill. Received a good hand. Reed's Bull Terriers-12 mins.-Gar. in 4-A number of trained bull terriers; a very lively dog act. They work well, and do most all the tricks that other dogs do. Ends lively, with plenty of noise. A good act. Morrisay & Rich-15 mins. in one-Man and woman, in a singing and cross-fire talking act; a great act for a Bijou audience. They have some bright talk, but the woman has a coarse voice, maybe she has a cols; and she can hardly be called a good singer. Their talk went well with the balcony and gallery, with many laughs. "Small" hand. Roattino & [Stevens?]-15 mins.-Spec. Set-Two girls. They have a novelty;carry their own sets, which divides the set into three sections. In one Miss Roattino sings, in the centre [stereopticon?] views of illustrated scenes are thrown, and in the other end section, Miss Stevens dances. Miss Roattino sings a sailor song in costume, illustrated with views, and then Miss Stevens dances "The Sailor's Hornpipe" in her section. The same routine is carried out with a Scotch songs and an Indian song.Although the act is a novelty, the girls are not [singing?] to the best possible advantage, for they have a space only about six feet square in which to work. Both girls are good, each in her line, the singer having an excellent, rich, sweet voice, and it is evident they could use their talents to better advantage with another set--or in another act. Received [some?] applause. John D. Gilbert-[12?] mins. in one-an eccentric monologue comedian, droll and very funny. As a laugh extractor, he's a hit. He is really eccentric--so much so that it would be hard to describe his work. A laughing hit. The Tobins-[1?] mins.-C.D.F. in [2?]-close in one-Two girls, in a straight musical act that is as good as anything that we've had since Musical [Dale?}. both are pretty, and they dress in excellent taste. Very good musical act. [Cressy? & Layne?]-[28?] mins.-Spec. set-Sketch "The New Depot;" A beautiful new set that Cressy carries. The new sketch is a part of [sequal?] to ["Bill Biffin's Baby?,"] and of course is very good--as is all of Cressy's work. Went very well indeed and will draw money. H. A. DANIELS.
