NEW YORK SHOW, WEEK OF OCTOBER 5, 1903. AR 3--THE DEMUTHS.--This is a dancing act somewhat after the order of the De Forests, but, of course, along way removed from them so far as quality is concerned. Still, it is a very pretty little act, and, as an opener, can easily be called exceptionally good. 10 min., full stage. NH 3--Lenore & St. Clair.--A man and a woman in an eccentric comedy, singing and dancing act. The man makes up as a sort of a broken-down actor and the woman is quite a clever soubrette. In fact, she is much better than he is. The act will never fill anything except a small place on the bill, but in that position can be classed as fairly good. 17 minutes in one. ER.--3. WORDETTE & KUSEL.--A man and a woman in a comedy sketch entitled "A Honeymoon in the Catskills." This act has played the circuit, and there is not a great deal of comment necessary. I think it is a capital sketch and is quite well acted. The only thing about it to its detriment being a rather bad finish. 16 minutes, full stage. NH 3--JOHN HEALY.--John got on at 1:55 this afternoon, and with a house pretty well filled up he did as he always does when he has an audience to work to, at least in New York, made quite a hit. Here at the Union Square, he always seems to be especially funny to the ladies of the audience, and as our matinees are largely composed of females he simply had them hiw own way and handled them in great shape. 20 minutes in one. NH 3--KELTER.--Bounding rope. This performer I consider to be a clever artist. He is a long way removed from Caicedo, but he is still a good performer. He dresses neatly and made a very favorable impression. 8 minutes, full stage. NH 3. JOHNSON & WELLS.--Colored team. Man and woman. The man being a brother of Johnson of Johnson & Dean. It is hardly necessary to say that this act went big for all colored acts seem to go good in this house. These people are excellent dressers and Johnson is a good, lively dancer. 12 minutes in one. GHR 2. A. D. ROBBINS.--Trick bicyclist. This is Robbins' first appearance in America for four or five years. He was not in the best of form this afternoon and made a great many misses in some of his more difficult tricks. I attribute it, however, to nervousness, for he certainly demonstrated that he is a good rider, and I will look for him to go big to-night. 8 minutes, full stage. YRR 2--R. J. JOSE. Singer. Somehow or other, Jose never seems to go as strong in thise house as he does in the others. I think the audience enjoyed his singing all right, but he does not seem to win the gallery as I would like to see him do. There is no question, however, but that he is a great singer and an ornament to any programme. 12 minutes in one. YHR.--THE MOLASSO-SALVAGGI TROUPE.--This is a quartette of French people--2 men and 2 women--doing a novel dancing act. While it is not as strong as the original troupe that was over here two or three years ago, they still do a very clever act and its novelty makes it doubly interesting. They were very cordially received, their last dance making a pronounced hit. 10 minutes, full stage. GHR 2--HARRIGAN.--Tramp juggler and comedian. He did for the first half of his act the old turn, and then went into a monolog for the finish. He has certainly got a lot of exceptionally good material, and I have no doubt that he will go very strong tonight. We had one of our occasional dull audiences this afternoon, and as he is one those fellows who gets discouraged easily he did not go as
