36 (M. J. Keating) Boston Show Week of Oct. 19, 1903 Stereopticon, 3 shows, 5 min. in 1--Usual interesting selections of home and foreign views. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Thorne and Company, 3 shows, 24 min. full stage--Making their annual appearance in "An Uptown Flat", which scored its usual laughing hit. There have been several changes made in the act, including attractive transformation signs on the walls, a becoming Indian costume worn by Mr. Thorne, who also carries a new "prop" tomahawk. Joking aside, it is one of the most useful acts in the 3-a-day section in vaudeville. Reed's Bull Terriers, 3 shows, 10 min. full stage--Capital animal act, which could be placed almost anywhere in the best program. It is lively and "circusy" from start to finish. Kelcey Sisters, 3 shows, 9 min. in 1--Trio of young women, who look as though they had stepped out of one of Capt. Eddy's spectacular productions. Their singing is poor, but the act is carried along by some lively dancing. It is all right in the 3-a-day section. Arvello, 3 shows, 9 min. full stage--One of the most attractive "sight" acts we play in the 3-a-day section. Scored a hit. Tom Morrissey and Anna Rich, 3 shows, 15 min. in 1--Comedy talking and singing act that has done duty for several seasons. It is not strong enough to occupy a prominent place in the programme but is all right in this place in this week's bill. To me, Morrissey is a funny man, but Miss Rich is decidedly passe. Molasso Troupe, 2 shows, 8 min. full stage--European-novelty dancing act, by a quartet, equally divided as to sex. It is one of those acts that make a bill look "dressy", though it does not call for much applause. Charles L. Fletcher, 2 shows, 23 min. in 1--This man is quite strong in this house, as Boston was his home. He is quite a clever and artistic entertainer, and went as strong as anything on our bill today. Will Cressy and Blanche Dayne, 2 shows, 25 min. full stage- Presenting for the first time here, their new comedy sketch, "The New Depot", which is not by any means so strong as their other comedies. It seems to me that Cressy is writing himself out in one direction. The piece sags a little in the center, more through Miss Dayne's inability to keep pace with her husband's clever acting than for any other reason. A beautiful stage setting is a conspicuous feature of the act. the balance of the week will substitute Kimball and Donovan, banjoists in Miss George's place on the bill, which will be for the better, as the change from Cressy and Dayne to Nirvana cause considerable noise, which cannot be abated.
