37 [CRITICSM?] SHOW KEITH'S THEATRE,PHILA., PA OCT. 19TH Sanford Sisters-12 mins.-C.D.F. in 2-close in one- instrumentalists; straight musical act; [?] a [?illegible], and [really?] a very fair musical act; Received a "small" hand. [illegible] [Ribarde?]-10 mins.-Gar. in 3-Girl, equilibrist; about [illegible] a [illegible] act she has always presented. [She?] continues to get [illegible], [chic?] [illegible?] to detrect from her appearance in tights. She is daring, and always fills in acceptably. Murphy & Andrews-15 mins. inone-Man and woman, in a straight singing, dancing and talking act. Some of the talk is bright - in spots-but the act as a whole is only about fair to good., Could not stand a very strong place. [illegible], Ross & Levi - 18 mins.- C.D.F. in 3-close in one-Two men and a woman comedy, music and dancing. Dick [illegible] is as funny as ever. The windup of the act is better than the start. Finished with plenty of applause, though did not see quite as strong as when last here. John B. Hart - 15 mins,-Kitchen in 2-close in one-the Juggling [Waiter?]; works in some comedy to good advantage. The act is of "small" calibre, and like others of its kind,is simply good to fill in time. MATTHERS & HARRIS-25 mins.-Spec. Set in 4-Man and woman, in a sketch "Adam the Second," one of the best comedy sketches we play. If Tom, Nayn's daughter or some other younger woman was playing Miss Harris' part,it would improve the sketch [100%?] The audience seemed to like it, but it was due to the author of the sketch and not to the people who presented it. Three Mitchells-15 mins.- Open in one-Gar. in 3-close in one-Man, woman and little girl-all coons;regular coon act;good and lively. Winona & Ben & Winter-20 mins. C.D.F in 3-close in one-In their old act a singing sketch. As the girl grows older, she seems to lose some of her old charms, and this is inclined to be affected, and [pose?] The act was well received by the [illegible ??]. Henry Lee-20 mins.-Spec. Set in 4-Of course, the hit of the show. The the act went without a single kink. The audience fully appreciated Lee's talent and were not backward in demonstrating the fact. His offering is the most artistic and thoroughly complete and satisfying act we have had here in months. The Southern feeling in this [town?] was shown very emphatically during the impersonation of Robert E. Lee. He received twice the applause that was given Grant. By that [illegible] taken, the Southerners do not like our real coon acts, and kick at the door daily because we play them. R. J. [Jose?]-10 mins. in one-Tenor; was well received, with liberal applause. Bros. Silvas-12 mins.-Gar. in 4-A man and a boy working on an unsupported ladder, similar to the act presented lately by the [Maxsmith?] Duo--but more pretentious. A daring novelty that more than made good-though it made many shiver for the safety of the performers. Chas Williams-18 mins. in one-Dutch monologue; had some very good stuff, and seemed to go very well, indeed. 37 2. Keith's New Theatre. Edoian & Edwards-25 mins.-C.D.F. in 3-First time here, in the sketch "All in the Family;" probably received more laughs than any other act on the bill;went very well, and received well deserved applause. Biograph-19 mins.-Sheet in one-"Fairlyland." H. A. DANIELS.
