46 (M. J. Keating) Boston Show, Week of Oct. 26, 1903 Stereopticon, 3 show, 10 min. in 1--Usual collection of interesting views. The DeMuths, 3 shows, 12 min. full stage--Very good novelty and whirlwind dancing, from a 3-a-day standpoint. Teresa Kay, 3 shows, 12 min. in 1--This is a Scotch girl, recently arrived in this country, whom I put on for a trial. She is all right in every respect, having a pleasing voice, of good appearance and rendered old Scotch songs with effectiveness. She was liberally applauded after each selection. Can be booked on the balance of the circuit and elsewhere on my certificate of being all right, if not given too stiff a place on the bill. Along about 2.30 and 8.00 she would make good. Amoros-Werner Troupe, 2 shows, 18 min. full stage--Went just as well as last week, and could stand for a better place in the programme if we find it possible to give it to them. Alf Holt, 3 shows, 15 min. in 1--Whistler and mimic, and from a 3-a-day standpoint thoroughly all right, so far as this house is concerned, at least. Brothers Silvas, 2 shows, 24 min. full stage--One of the best sensational acrobatic acts that we have ever played here, and, although it did not receive so much applause as the merit of their work deserved, there is no possible doubt but that it will create a deal of talk and be a big advertisement. Three Mitchells, 3 shows, 15 min. in 1--Man, woman and girl in the customary routine of songs given by colored teams. They only went fair until near the close, when Mitchell put up a bluff at dancing that caught the crowd, and the finish was very fast. Cressy and Dayne, 2 shows, 25 min. full stage--Presenting their best comedy sketch, "Bill Biffin's Baby", which was laughed at and applauded all through, as if this were the first time it had been given here. John D. Gilbert, 2 shows, 19 min. in 1--Eccentric comedian and vocalist, well known to legitimate audiences from his long connection with musical comedies and comic operas. Did not go so strong as I expected this afternoon, but I believe he will win out with the night audience. He had a very stiff contract in following Cressy who had drawn out so much laughter that they needed a rest. He is an exceptionally clever chap, as vaudeville entertainers go.
