57 CRITICISM OF SHOW. KEITH'S NEW THEATRE,PHILA. NOV. 2ND. Bean & Hamilton-12 mins.-Gar. in 3-Two men, barrel jumpers and acrobats; very good act for an opener and could stand a better place. They work hard and were appreciated. Max Ritter-8 mins. in one-white man, singing coon songs;a topical coon shouter;does a little dancing;accomplishes nothing out of the ordinary, but gets by all right. Cherry & Bales-15 mins.-Road landscape in 4-Two bicyclists, one as tramp, one straight. A good [bike?] act, full of ginger and action. Could stand a stronger place;went very well, with deserved applause. Rooney Sisters-12 mins. in one-Songs and dances;make a neat appearance, but their voices are fearful. They simply have no license to sing anything at all. Their dancing is better. Their appearance is the only thing that saves them. Treloar-15 mins.-spec. Set in 3-Assisted by Miss Tempest, in artistic posings and feats of strength;an artistic and refined little act;was well received, with liberal applause. Josephine G. Wilkinson-12 mins. in one-Soloist;relative of a prominent politician;undoubtedly has a highly cultured voice;has a large local following;very attractive in appearance. Minstrel Misses-25 mins.-Spec. Set.-Seemed to go fully as strong as last week;on at 2.20 and [?].15; have some new jokes and more than made good. Alf Holt-15 mins. in one-Mimic,with a sprinkling of comedy. They seemed to like him,if not for his ability,at least for his frankness and nerve. He put the audience in excellent humor. Cole & Johnson-20 mins.-C.D.F. in 3-The best of all colored vocalists; are very strong here, and are always well received;received the first advance applause of the day;finished very strong;the applause hit of the show. Musical Dale-15 mins. in one-The best bell ringer in the varieties;a thorough artist. He didn't really hit the audience until he offered "Floradora" on the concertina. From then on he was IT. Chas. Bradshaw & Co.-25 mins.-C.D.F. in 3-Four people, two men and two women,in a corking comedy sketch "Fix in a Fix"; was well received, with roars of laughter in spots. Haines & Vidocq-15 mins. in one-Two men, blackface, cross fire talk; too well known to need comment;always go very strong. Galletti's Monkeys [illegible] Dogs-17 mins.-Gar. in 3-An excellent animal act that contains a great element of comedy. Biograph-15 mins. in one-Good selection of views. Eldora & [Morine?]-20 mins.-Pal. in [5?]-Two men, a juggler and his assistant; good juggling act;was put on late to save the "big" show for the audience. By this arrangement the monkeys are not lost. H. A. DANIELS.
