60 HYDE & BEHMAN'S. Brooklyn, New York City. Week commencing November 2nd, 1903. BESNAH & MILLER. Comedy singers and dancers. A good opening act, they are fair singers and very good dancers, have some good comedy. The act went well. Open in two, close in one. time 14 minutes. MATTHEWS & HARRIS. "The Pirate King." This is their new act. It is on the same lines as "Adam the Second", not quite as much comedy, but we consider it a better act. It was well received. They improve the details at every performance. Carry their own scenery, which is good. Full stage. Time 26 minutes. WILL WEST, AND HIS PICKS. West is an artist in the line of Coster songs. He comes on and sings two Coster songs, which are well received. Then stage opens in full, showing subway etc. He then comes on in character of a Coster laborer with song, has a chorus of eight boys made up as Irishmen, with picks on their shoulders. The chorus is the real redeeming feature of the act. It went well with the audience. Closes with special song by request. Open one, full stage, close in one. Time 16 min. WHITNEY BROTHERS. Novelty and Music. Good musical act with some comedy. Full stage. Time 15 minutes. HELENE GERARD. Queen of Equine culture. An extremely pleasing act to the eye. Miss Gerard is a beautiful woman, has two very fine horses, splendidly trained. The first horse is ridden on stage by Miss Gerard, and does marching, dancing etc. She closes with second horse, mounting revolving circular, colored lights are thrown on and she does a serpentine motion on horseback with beauti-effect. It is a good act. Full stage. Time 8 minutes. ADOLPH ZINC. Little man, Big comedian. Character changes with song. Has Biograph pictures representing the changes in his dressing room. A very good act. All in one. time 20 minutes. FILSON & ERROL. "The Black Cat." Their new act. From a dramatic standpoint, this is unquestionably a fine act. It is however, so unlike their old sketches that it does not seem to be their best hold. It is admirably acted and has some good comedy, but they have been so long identified with strong laughter provoking comedy, that there seems to be something missing, which without doubt they will remedy as they see the need. It is a good act and went well. Carry their own scenery. Full stage. Time 25 minutes. QUIGLEY BROTHERS. Conversational comedy. They do a very bright talking turn, which always goes great here. All in one. Time 17 minutes. COTURE & GILLETTE. Parisian Comedy Acrobats. A first class acrobatic act. Couture is a marvelous acrobat. Comedy work of Gillette very good. Full stage. Time 10 minutes.
