New York Show--Week of November 9th.--2. GHR. 2--JOE FLYNN.-- I think Flynn went better this afternoon than I have ever known him to go in this house. He had several entirely new parodies, and his extracts from the "personal" and "want" columns of the news papers were a laughing hit. 18 minutes in one. YNH 2--LILLIAN BURKHART & CO.-- In a new sketch entitled "A Santa Claus Lady." Miss Burkhart is supported by one other woman and two men, and it seemed to me this afternoon that this new company appeared to much better advantage than that of the last one she brought us. It is possible that this is because they do not have so much to do, but they certainly got through all right. The woman whom she has with her is really very good indeed. The act in itself is pretty hard to classify. For the first half of it there is comedy and the last half pathos. The audience this afternoon certainly enjoyed it. It gives Miss Burkhart herself an opportunity to show her versatility, and I have an idea that the act will be satisfactory to everybody. 21 min.; full stage. GYN 2--RICE & ELMER.--Comedy bar act. Two men; one man made up as a China-man, and the other as a farmer. In the worst possible place on the bill they made a great big hit. Their comedy is very funny, and they are both exceptionally clever bar performers. 12 minutes, full stage. HR 3--BIOGRAPH.--They gave us a very good collection of views this week. The feature of which illustrated the experiences of a rural couple at Coney Island, the film introducing about every one of the catch-penny attractions peculiar to Coney. It made a big hit and closed the bill in excellent shape. REMARKS.-- Our audience was somewhat dull this afternoon, and it is hardly fair to criticize the show too closely, but I think it will develop into a good, average bill. John D. Gilbert failed to materialize for some unknown cause, but we think we shall be able to pull through without him. S. K. HODGDON.
