73 Criticism, Keith's Bijou, Phila., Nov. 16th, 1903. STEREOPTICON: An interesting collection of slides made so this week by the introduction of new pictures of all the buildings for the St. Louis Exposition. THE LUCADOS: Garden in 3; 11 minutes; heavy weight balancers. An unusual chest expansion act by the man of the pair; the act proved a most excellent opener, gaining applause all through and free applause at the finish. 3 shows. ARMSTRONG & WRIGHT: Comedy dancing act. Street in one; 11 minutes. Fair singing and dancing act, which did not take well until Miss Wright's endurance dance at the close, which carried them off to a very fair hand. 3 shows. MITCHELL & MARRON, "The Two Minstrels Boys." Drapery in one; 18 minutes Regulation minstrel costumes, one man blackface, other straight. They seemed to catch the audience at the start, all of their jokes pleasing, and their songs being particularly well received. The audience was loath to part with them, and they were called back twice. Act can be said to have gone very strong here this afternoon and they could easily stand a better place on the bill. 3 shows. DENNETTE SISTERS: Drop in one; 8 minutes; song and dance artists. Two young local girls, one very pleasing appearance. They sing fairly well and dance quite as well. They received a very good hand. 3 shows. REED'S BULL TERRIERS: Garden in 4; 9 minutes. An unusually pleasing dog act. while using but few dogs the animals are exceedingly well trained, all seeming to know their cues and working as if it were a pleasure for them to do so. The act went very strong this afternoon closing to big applause. 3 shows. JESSIE COUTHOUI: C.D.F. 2, close 1; 15 minutes, 5 minutes in one. The early part of her familiar monologue gained numerous laughs and earned a fair hand. With her recitation in one she closed very strong, better than we had anticipated, though she is certainly going back. 2 s's UNIQUE BALLET: Palace in 4 with own mirror effects in 4. A local novel singing and dancing act. They open with six girls in back and 2 girls, Fitzpatrick and Tapper, who have previously played the circuit, singing the song, after which they do a fake mirror dance, the mirrors being constructed of thin gauze (on the line of the act formerly done by the Leigh Sisters and the Eight English Roses) after which they do a waltz clog using fencing foils during its progress. Each number of the act was well received to-day, closing to very good and general applause. Properly dressed and with better music, the act would go very well in almost any position on almost any bill, the girls being young and attractive and dancing very well. We are arranging to introduce different music and will do so within the next day or two. 2 s's. hardly a doubt but that our business will keep up to the [???] last week and hardly any doubt but that it will show considerable improvement. E.P. Lyons.
