105 Keith's Bijou Criticism, Dec. 14th, 1903. JOHN HYAMS' ZULU GIRLS: 10 girls costumed in some cast offs from some extravaganza or something; costumes did not belong neither did the girls The act was recommended by Jo Paige Smith after having seen a rehearsal of it. The girls can neither sing nor dance and they dont look at all well in the costumes. I have given it a second trial but I feel pretty confident that they will have to kiss themselves good-bye this evening. I may keep them in a very early place on the bill if Hyams' will accept a nominal figure for them. 2 shows; garden 4; 9 minutes. YORKE & ADAMS: STREET IN ONE: 18 minutes; 2 shows. Hebrew comedians in the act that they have played over the circuit; they did very well, although one subject is spun out a little bit further than it ought to be. If I had a little bit longer show I would make them get it together However, they were a hit all right and held up their place in real good shape. THREE MARVELOUS MERRILLS: Another act familiar to the circuit; made out very well to-day. Woods 4; 14 minutes; 2 shows. BIOGRAPH: Fairly good selection of views the chief features being the picture called "The Poachers" and the film showing the Midnight Sun. "The Poachers" got laughs all through and a hand at the finish, and The Land of the Midnight Sun was very much admired. COMMENT: The show on the whole is quite good and with some slight rearrangement will play much better and make a good impression. The fall down of the Zulu Girls which I had on the bill as the feature is the cause of considerable weakness, but under the re-arrangement, if I keep them, they wont be seen by very many and probably wont hurt the show for the rest of the week. P.F. NASH. Slight improvement in Zulu Girls at night show. No good for the other houses
