106 NEW YORK SHOW--Week of December 14th.--2. GYH -2. JOHN D. GILBERT.--Eccentric comedian. He does a very clever act, indeed, entirely different from any of the monologuists who have been played lately, and went very strong indeed, especially his description of the opera singers and chorus. 19 minutes in one. MHR.--2--MARCEL'S PICTURES.--They gave us an entirely different selection of poses this week, every one of which were simply grand. It is an act that stands along by itself, the only objection to it at all being the waits between the pictures, which is unavoidable as he has but one platform. 23 minutes, full stage. NH 2 -VERA KING.-- Songs and stories. A very neatly dressed girl and who is quite clever in her way, presenting a repertoire of songs and stories. She was placed a little too far down on the bill this afternoon, which will be remedied at the night show. If she was on from 2 to 2:30 she can safely be called a good performer. 10 minutes, in one. MHR 2--MILLY CAPELL.--In her familiar horse and dog act. The act seemed to go fully as strong as ever, notwithstanding the fact that one of her dogs was sick this afternoon, which obliged her to make a little change in the routine of her act. There is no question but that it is the best equestrian act that we have ever played. 11 minutes, full stage. YYH 2--FISHER & CARROLL.--Eccentric comedians. They had a very hard place on the bill indeed, but made good as they always do in this house. 19 minutes, in one. GHR 2--LA VINE, CAMERON TRIO/--In an eccentric acrobatic and dancing act. The act is neatly dressed, even the comedian depending upon ill fitting clothes rather than dirty ones. The woman is a clever dancer and high kicker and both of the men are clever acrobats. 12 minutes, full stage. HR.--BIOGRAPH. A good collection of views. 18 minutes in one. S. K. HODGDOB [HODGDON].
