115 Keith's Bijou, Phila., Criticism, Dec. 21st, 1903. the act with a good round of applause, each selection being applauded also. BAKER & LYNN: C.D.F. 19 minutes; 2 shows. Man and woman in "The Electric Boy" the woman being made up as the usual vaudeville soubrette and the man as a fat grocer's boy. To this audience it was the funniest act they have had this season; the act was a scream all through. A.D. ROBBINS: Wood 4; 5 minutes; 2 shows. The trick bicyclist. This act played the circuit and, from reports, went well all around, but the reports would have been more enthusiastic, I think, if he had gone as well in the other houses as he did in this house to-day. There was a continual round of applause with plenty of laughter while he was on, and he got away with nearly every trick to-day without any falls, and was applauded very enthusiastically at the finish. JOHN & BERTHA GLEESON: In one; 14 minutes; 2 show. In their familiar dancing act in which they made good and were applauded all through. BEATRICE INGRAM & EDWIN NICANDER: C.D.F. 23 minutes; 2 shows. Two members of last years stock company in their sketch "Strictly Business," Nicander playing the part of a young German lawyer and Miss Ingram doing two changes from the young lady of the house to an English slavey and from that to a young man in evening dress. While the sketch itself has not a very great deal of value, these people handle it artistically and made every point count. It is an especially valuable act at least to us. They got a strong reception at opening and a very good recall at finish. QUIGLEY BROTHERS: In one; 20 minutes; 2 shows. In "The Congressman at Large" With an almost entirely new routine of material the act was a laugh all through, and, I think, as big a hit if not bigger than any other talking act we have had in the house. HOLLOWAY TRIO: Garden 3; 17 minutes; 2 shows. They scored also in their wire act, which is known to the entire circuit and made a very strong finish to a very strong show. BIOGRAPH: Had a more than usually excellent series of pictures this week, the Rube's Visit to Coney Island (new) and The Poachers, held over, making it as strong as any act on the bill. COMMENT: The show this week is absolutely the strongest that the house has had this season; I have not very often seen a stronger show in the house at any time. It starts to grow from the first act, and if we dont do business with such a show this week there is no business in town for us during the ante-holiday dullness. P.F. NASH.
