119 Report on show, Keith's Theatre, Providence, R. I., week of December 21, 1903. (Charles Lovenberg). The bill contains too many sight acts and not enough good comedy; for that reason the show goes rather dead. Stereoptican. As usual. Le Bar. Something of a contortion act but more of a dislocation of joints. Some of the tricks are really wonderful but rather repulsive. I would not care to have the act again. 8 min. in one, 3 shows. Wilson & Davis. Talking act. Patterned after Fields & Ward but, of course, not nearly as good. From a three a day standpoint it is all right. 15 min. in one. C. W. Sanderson. Trick pianist. Good three a day act. 14 min. in 3. The Three Barretts. Club juggling and hand throwing. The act is the same as they have always given us and grows neither better nor worse and probably will never get by the three a day section, in which they may be classed as fairly good. 15 min. full stage. Rae & Brosche. Comedy sketch in which the woman does a lot of fast talking. The act goes pretty well but creates no great amount of hilarity, and personally I can't see how they came to be of the two a day section. They may go stronger in other Theatres, however. 20 min. opening and closing in one, 2 shows. Milly Capell. Same act she has given us before and which must be rated among the prettiest acts that we play. 12 min. full stage, 2 shows. Mabel Hudson. Failed to materialize. Geo. Lavender & Ada Tomson. Sketch "A Touchdown," in which they do a very fair act and one that probably would go much better if I would be able to place them something like an hour earlier on the bill. May be classed however, as a good act. 20 min. in three. Can close in one. 2 shows. T. Nelson Downs. This man is without a doubt the most wonderful "coin manipulator" I ever saw. I think with the night audience he will go very strong: his work hardly seemed to be appreciated this afternoon but the fact remains that he has a great act. 15 min. in one, 2 shows. The Willis Family. Musical Artists. This act is well known on the circuit so I will simply say that they go strong here. 20 min. in three, close in one, 2 shows. The Sandor Trio. This act of muscular display is the best act of its kind that I know of. 10 min. full stage, 2 shows. Yorke & Adams. Although they got on very late this afternoon they went very well indeed. The Hebrew acts seem to be picking up here and I think we can afford to continue them as long as they give us new material. 16 min. in one, 2 shows. Kaufmann Troupe. Bicyclists. There is no other act of the kind that approaches them in the slightest degree. They are in a class entirely alone. 16 min. full stage, 2 shows. Biograph. Collection of views not as good as usual.
